Okay, I’m here. But I also ate chocolate cake today. Boo.
My goal = Lose enough weight to be healthy by my birthday (December 18). And then maybe I can concentrate on more fun, creative stuff!
This is so cool! And a great way to keep myself accountable on the reading for my classes! Thanks for creating the blog!
pq – drink a tall lass of water and take a brisk walk around the block. show that cake who’s boss
I’m here!!!
Heh, maybe a group like this will help actually finish my trilogy. I’ve only been working on it for about a decade.
On the worship front, I’m on a mission to simplify everything we do so that we can implement more creative elements into our services (drama, readings, contemplation, video, silence, you name it).
On the personal front, I have a super secret project under way that might just change my life.
Oh…and I’m writing a series of wedding resource books. One hour a day will be dedicated to this so I can be a stay at home mom someday!
Hey, ya listed my link as .com instead of .org. And .com happens to be a muslim site and having my name on it isn’t good…LOL
toby – noted. im sure russ will change that
im seriously tearing up at the goals listed here! this is gonna be a phenomenal, life changing year, thats not only gonna change us…but impact others as well!!
we’re gettin out of the boat people!
Haha, yeah I just copied it from your comment.
Changing now.
Nor: Waiting to exhale.
Holy cow this is amazing… What the HECK just happened?!
Louise
Intentionally Titus 2. Intentionally making the time to encourage girls younger than myself in the faith and thanking older ladies who have modelled the faith for me. All in WRITING. ie snail mail where possible. And copied to my website where appropriate.
Awesome guys and gals!!
i’m in.
i’m a writer.
i am working on a book – nonfiction, memoir style. I need to finish a sample section by April and complete the outline, intro by then too. I’d like to finish the entire book by December.
I am working on bible study curriuculum. I need to finish three lessons by March and then 10 or 15 more by August.
I also have two little girls who use up most of my time so i will need prayers for time and motivation and energy. =)
Add me to your list and I’ll put the badge on my blog. =)
Ooh… goals.
Not quite to the book writing stage, but I want to get better at blogging – at least once per week on the recipe blog, and at least every other day on the personal one – not weekends though.
Oh yeah, and actually do something besides sit at a computer every day – like exercise…
And re-learn to play the piano…
I think that’s enough, no?
Thanks for doing this – accountability is a good thing!
Mark – 1 song per week or 3 per month!
im loving this community!
never saw this coming guys. this is superb!
I am gathering and creating healthy recipes to nourish my family. Low in gluten, sugar and dairy!
Hope to add one to my collection on my blog once a week.
Cee (mum of two littlies)
Welcome Cee!
cee – i am totally interested in your recipes. looking forward to this!
welcome aboard!
Yay! Cee Lew is my sister in Adelaide, South Australia. She found this via my blog (we hardly get to talk, blogging is good for keeping up – sad, but not too, I think
Oh, and she has a great “Mum blog”, to use the Oz spelling
well then….g’day, cee!
hey david!
Thanks guys. G’day to you all. Yes I am the very proud sister of David!!
Love this community already. It is not limited to one sphere of creativity as I’ve seen before ie crafting, or writing etc. Hope it grows far!!
Cool work guys.
Cee (mum of two littlies, proud sis of Dave and wife of a very Generous Gentleman)
I only followed through 3 out of 5 days this week. dang! Our schedules are going through drastic change, I really need to catch up on here, and stick to my study schedule!
3 is better than 0!!
Keep at it!
Wow this blog is a great idea.
I am trying to work on creating home made greeting cards. I am very weak in the artistic, creative area, so this is difficult for me. But it is a good challenge to explore something I am not comfortable with, so I will commit to two cards a month. EEK I am already having commitment remorse!! LOL!
Breezy
welcome aboard Breezy!!!
excited to see what you come up with in your creations
One song per month, already a month behind
Praise365, I know with the new work schedule you are still finding your way to know when to sleep..it will all work out and you will adjust..and then … ready to hear those new songs!
This is great, I found out about this through my friend Mark Thomas. I’d like to participate as well if possible! My creative outlets are writing, photgraphy and mainly: songwriting. Thanks for this great project!
also, my goal= 1 song every two weeks and one writing and/or piece of photgraphy once a week.
Added Josh.
Let me know if I need to add anyone else!
Not doing too well at the moment. Some minor stuff here and there but was hoping to at least write one letter a month.
You can do it Louise! Leave the failures behind and start fresh today!
I resolve to become more intellygint – it took me about 30 minutes of searching this blog before i found out where i could ‘join’. Can i suggest a ‘Join Here’ page and it could link to these comments also?
Ok, my current ‘creativity commitment’ is health and fitness one – to shrink my waistline by 7-9 cms down to 99cms by 1 June through undertaking more frequent exercise. I’m also committing to change to becoming more thankful and developing A TAG (Attitude of Thanks-giving, Appreciation and Gratitude for everything in my life).
Nice aura of love here.
<B
yay Love – you found us. it wasnt that hard. no whining mister
ok. welcome aboard. we’ll be your accountability and cheerleading group!
im proud of you, sir.
No whining here – only constructive criticism – it all depends upon one’s perspective
No pride please
i’m a humble kinda guy – so far!
I’m thankful for you, Tam – who you are and and what you do/are doing!
And for the Progress you have made and will continue to make.

Committed to being brave enough to create stuff.
Writing and photography for me at http://learningfromsophie.wordpress.com
And for our smallgroup this is our way of being a ‘missional’ creative community: http://theartofjoy.wordpress.com
Thanks for joining, BK! Look forward to sharing in your journey!
Finally headed in the right direction. Hoooray!
Set up a dinner party for young single girls. It was a blast. We had so much fun.
Also working on my relationship with a preteen. That’s going pretty well so far, too.
Organised a bunch of flowers for our pastor’s wife to thank her for her contribution to her husband’s ministry.
I know that this is creative in a completely different way, but I’m glad to have the accountability. Thank you.
Way to go Louise!

Nate Lawrenson: committing to writing two worship choir charts per month (http://practicalworship.blogspot.com/) and posting new pics on my photo blog twice per month (http://nathanlawrensonphotography.blogspot.com/).
I love to be creative, I hate having to learn how to use all of these fancy internet tools, so bear with me…
Also committing to writing my CFHusband book (http://cfhusband.blogspot.com/), although I have no idea how long it will take since I’m still shopping for a publisher (keep this one a secret within the community, please).
@B – thank you! I’ll try and see if I can do it later.
@milepost13 – Welcome! Dude, you know how to do lots of technological creative stuff that I’m seriously clueless about (like your videos for instance). Hope to hear more about the book as it progresses. I’m trying to write one too but not sure if I’d ever get it published.
Nope, still can’t do it. Src img? What? Yep, I know the widget etc. but I need the code, because I’m pretty thick when it comes to things like this.
Hi, everyone,
@trishlawrence here, a writer. Found you through Sarah Markley’s site, through Gidget Goes Home.
I am going to learn to be more creative this year with images. I am a writer and can write even when I don’t want to, but posting photos (or remembering to take photos) is not my initial reaction (this will probably change after I have kids).
Anyway, nice to meet you all and looking forward to checking out everyone’s blogs.

Trish
@trishlawrence
my wife’s name is tricia lawrenson. just thought I’d point that out.
If you’re like me, photography will become an absolute once you’ve got kids. I’ve taken more pics in the past 12 months than I have the rest of my life, which is saying something since I’ve always been about photography.
Just found this site, and I am blown away. I commit to reading Scripture daily, starting today; writing a blog http://editoriallyspeaking.blogspot.com weekly while trying to make it less long, obtuse and all of its other failings …; exercising daily; being more open to the Lord’s leading.
Nice. I’ll join the fray, creative crazies.
Welcome to our new faces!
I want to take more pics and write one new song a month. Primarily though, this summer I’d like to record many of the songs I’ve written. Put me down for photography and songwriting please!
Sorry, my blog is ryancornett.wordpress.com – Thanks!
Welcome Ryan. I’ll add you tonight!
i love that more people are jumping on board!
hi ryan…welcome to the clan!
Welcome newbies!!
@Tam – you’ve gone Scottish !! woo hoo!! (loving the use of ‘clan’)
@brunettekoala – i am a wee bit irish. does that count?
i’m in!
my goals:
1. One song a month (even when they’re crap, i need to keep up the exercise of writing)
2. One blog post a week, not including my Sunday Set List
3. Finish mixing/editing our recording and get it online by the end of May.
tamihoban.wordpress.com
Welcome Tami!
Committing to write one new song a month… big commitment for me while I am juggling full time job, full time student, husband and dad… but one song a month should be reasonable.
@Tam – well, there’s a celtic connection between us at least then!
Btw, I’ve been looking to get more focused in worship ministry so started a new blog
http://gracenoteshowers.blogspot.com
The Art of Joy went really well, and we’re now praying about whether that should be it or whether it’s something we’d like to continue and develop…
I’m in the midst of three strong commitments:
1) To write training curriculum to use with indigenous worship leaders in developing countries. This must be finished by mid- July for translation for use in the Dominican Republic and Guatemala. I’ve finished outlines and section 1. I’m planning on traveling to both these places to train in 2009/2010. So I’m writing a bit every week.
2) To write a book proposal for a book I’m writing on ministering through brokenness and how God can use that brokenness for His glory and to enlarge our capacity as ministers. My goal – to turn it in by mid July! I hope this writing will give me opportunities to do some motivational speaking to leaders and minister to them out of my own experiences.
3) To strengthen my body so that I can serve God with ALL of my strength.
And I write songs about all of the experiences in my life, but I just do that as it happens!
Welcome Jan!
Welcome Brandon!
knock knock
Sorry Zack – no-one home.
You could try Twitter @ourcc – if you like that sort of thing?
All the rest of us dinosaurs are either extinct or in hibernation for the duration.
<B
Hey Zack!
Just saw your comment about the discarded post. Not sure why.
anyhooo…
Welcome to OurCC.
Glad to be a part of this community!
Committing to… 1 healthy vegetarian recipe created and posted a week!
Finally getting around to coming over here.
I’ll commit to one song and five “finished” photos a month.
It’s a slow start, but I’m in the midst of juggling family, work, and school. Once I work it into a routine, I’ll bump it up a little.
I have totally fizzled in blogging regularly!
I am committing to creating 2 graphics per month, 1 song per month, and to read 1 book each month all while updating my blog on a regular basis.
Here we go…
So, um, yeah…I joined this group way back in the day.
How’ve my goals been going. What, I committed to some goals? Huh, go figure.
I think I might be the biggest slacker who’s joined, but I’ve got all my excuses lined up and ready…
Seriously though, between just some crazy personal life stuff, filling in for my pastor for the last month after getting his hip replaced, and finally taking a family vacation for the first time in two years, there’s a sign of progress being made.
I’m writing again. Yippee!
Actually, I’m re-reading and editing the 370 some-odd manuscript pages I’ve produced so far, and written down a ton of notes for the next segments of the story.
I’m optimistic that I can have the first book of my trilogy ready for beta readers before the holidays. That would totally rock.
So, just throwing this out there. Anybody interested in being a beta reader for the first volume of a fantasy genre trilogy? (Think Lord of the Rings without the genius.) If anyone’s willing to commit to reading the whole thing objectively yet critically, I’d love to throw a PDF your way. If fantasy is not your thing, you probably want to skip this one.
Here’s hoping for no writer’s block over the next few months!
(Sorry for writing a novella and passing it off as a comment.)
i’m up for a bit of fantasy reading Happy to help if i can
I’ll drop by your blog so you can email me if you like?
( Used to read LOTR under my bedcovers with a torch around age 12-13!)
<B
I love to read…yes please! send to lujoanknight@ Google mail.
Not doing so hot on the writing part of my goal, but the intentional mentoring is picking up nicely.
@love & @Louise Thanks for offering to beta read. Whenever I get to that point, I’ll come back here and send out copies to those who’ve responded here.
@love Thanks for the visit to my blog. I guess I need to actually get back to writing content there. *sigh*
For the record, my goal is 10 manuscript pages per day. If I can keep that pace going, I’ll more than finish volume 1 of my story before Thanksgiving.
Count me in!
Though I might join additional categories in the future, I’d love to get started in the photography section. I’ll commit to one topic of development (aperture, dof, shutter speed, etc.) per month – may take one post, may take many. I’ll work on the skill throughout the month and post related information, as well.
I can be found here: http://okaypeanut.com
Looking forward to interacting with all of you and getting some constructive criticism, as well!
I am committed to blogging weekly and adding posts about technical A/V stuff, sermon resources and aids, videos, skits, etc…Glad to be here.
New here. Not sure what to commit to. Maybe just doing my daily Marketing Fails on my blog on time and continuing to write something (song, poem, blog) everyday. maybe?
Hey Emily
As far as I know, anything goes. Enjoy!
Mandy – I’m just astounded by how incredibly well you’ve done!
Thank you all for posting here – whether you achieved as much as you’ve wanted to or not, there has been some accountability for me, even though in a small way – and it’s helped.
May your Christmas season be one where you experience the JOY of extravagant worship.
Hi…
This looks great! I’d love to be involved. I have a few creative ideas for church and youth ministry on my blog, feel free to check it out – I’d welcome any feedback!
Suzy xx
Gosh. It’s hard to narrow it down.
Writing two chapters a week. Yup. That’s it. How exciting. I’ve been working on five novels for ten years and it’s time to step it up and do something with them.
I have been “writing a book” for about 10 years. I have shopped it around to a publisher. They liked the writing but said I needed to become more “well known.” SO – I am committing to getting some articles into magazines. I also have written curriculum for those doing urban youth ministry. And I would like to re-submit the book by the end of the year and see what happens!
